Do you really think WD cares about this? And react?

Go to their forum WD where users talk about this problem - there is simply no reaction or information - from their own "experts". They call it service and help - but there is nothing like that.

We here found out what happened.

And: That is the problem with apps and online services - popular at the moment and later on : Services are shut down without notice! In this case noone has to pay or do anything - but the plug off the service because they are in the mood to do so. Why? No information, no reaction.

If you start a 5 year old tablet resettet to factory status nearly 70% of the apps installed are not working ... service discontinued.

Finally -

I can advice every WDLIVE user blocked by the device from now on (*thanks Western Digital *

• I will not forget this when buying new hardware) getting their Metadata from TMDB to look at Media Elch. With a little work, tryout & testing now it works really compfortably! I must say more compfortably than before on the device with the remote control.

When you configure the Program you can scapp metadata of many movies with just one simple mouseclick. Two things not working - the pictures from the movies in the background won't load and second - sometimes Media Elch grabs Covers in very high-def size (3000 pix or above) - in this case you must choose another cover in a smaller scale. And there are a lot of covers you can choose from by clicking (nice).

Everything looks like before - I'am not happy with the fact WD cut the line without a reason. But because of this I found a new option for this old but still great device.

[Because of the fact I'm not english speaking well enough and this board software is not fully featured with standart basic options like upload a screenshot e.g. I can't show all my changes on Media Elch nesessary to work with the WDLIVE device here.]

I think your solution is great and would like to know more about it.

Hi are you able to provide some details on how to get Media Elch onto the WDLIVE box?

I explained this over the weekend succesfully to a friend of mine in german - with 15 Screenshots and a lot of text. In the screenshoots I showed him all he preferences for a lot of settings nescessary to grab and save the data readable for the WD. This - in german - and with screenshots of Media Elch - in german,too - took about an hour.

Sorry - but this forum doesen't even allow to post a simple screenshot (?) and my english is really not good enough to write the complete workaround down.

What I can say - when it's done it's quick and you can choose from a lot of Covers or even fanbase artwork stuff. 70 Movies were completly scapped and tagged in 10 minutes.

Would be nice to give us a link to this here also - but I don't think WD will do anything - their support is really not worth to speak about. Is there any reaction over the last 2 weeks? The question may lay on the WD table forever.

In this case : If there is no more info from everyone, it is time to close this thread. TMDB don't like to do anything, WD also - I found a solution for myself - so everything is said.

I wait for any response over the weekend - else it is time to close this thread.

This may be a silly question but would it be possible for an individual (for their own use) to get an API key from TMDB and then modify the file and then reload it? My knowledge of APIs is not very good so if this is a dumb question then please excuse me.

Sorry, but why should I do this? And where? I cannot jump or choose "just another" forum and start a thread to put in a complete workaround.

To make this understandable I think you need at least 2 hours to write everything down an make some helpfull screenshoots - and after this you had to answer questions when somebody don't understand something or makes a mistake (in syntax e.g.). I think I don't can benefit in this in any way...

I came here to find help ... but there is no help here via TMDB or from WD. This is dissapointing from both sides - but maybe you look and try Media Elch for yourself - it is really possible to get a working .xml file.
