Sprijin Bază de date filme (The Movie Database)

Hi everyone. First of all, let me tell you that my searches are in PT-BR. So, I thought the words being searched should be contained inside of the movie titles in the results, but this isn't what's happening. Here are the search results for "tese": Results for "tese" Notice that the word "tese" isn't inside of "tesouro". Also, here's something that appeared in the search for "rais": Result for "rais" Again, "Rail" doesn't contain "Rais". These are just two geebirish words I was testing, but on every search I get the same incongruent results. So, is it me who's not understanding how the search works, or is it really wrong?

EDIT: Adding additional context, these results I've shown are from the official TMDB site, but I get the same results when fetching data in a React app I'm building.

Hi everyone.
First of all, let me tell you that my searches are in PT-BR.
So, I thought the words being searched should be contained inside of the movie titles in the results, but this isn't what's happening.
Here are the search results for "tese":
Results for "tese"
Notice that the word "tese" isn't inside of "tesouro".

I also did it in pt-BR.
Image link imgbb informs Service Unavailable.
I did the same searches on the WEB interface.
TESE
Series = 38
Movies = 194
On the first series page, all items have the string "TES", without the final E, somewhere in the title.

Also, here's something that appeared in the search for "rais": Result for "rais" Again, "Rail" doesn't contain "Rais".

RAIS
Series = 212
Movies = 1199
On the first series page, all items have the string "RAIS" somewhere in the title.

These are just two geebirish words I was testing, but on every search I get the same incongruent results.
So, is it me who's not understanding how the search works, or is it really wrong?

I believe that searching for a word or segment of a word never gives good results.
If you use quotation marks it worsens the result.
The system works best when using a title or name.
Furthermore, the search is carried out on all titles in all languages, including alternative titles.
That is, the string is not in the original/local title of your language but can be in any other.

EDIT: Adding additional context, these results I've shown are from the official TMDB site, but I get the same results when fetching data in a React app I'm building.

Yes. If the search parameters are the same, the tendency is to obtain the same results using API or via WEB interface

Exact word search support will be available in the update to WEB-41

Current search systems always try to "guess" what users type.
This is because the number of typing errors in search is immense.
Duplicated letters, missing letters, misspelled words, in short, writing is not the strong point of the younger generation.
Then the systems seek to compensate for these errors.
But that's just the opinion of a 72 year old guy. :-)

I see. Thanks for the information!
