It's not possible.
The parameters for defining the Popularity value can be seen here.

The value changes throughout the day.
The database is updated once a day.
It is stated on the page:

There is no API to explore this data right now but it is something that would be a lot fun to dig into.
The daily file exports do however, contain the popularity data so there is a record of the values starting on April 28, 2017.

So yes, the website will probably have more current information than the API Request.
