Search movie do not check for years

Hi all, i am not able to undestand why the "search movie" function is not checking the years. I have a search like this: query: "Halloween" year: "2018" 'https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Halloween&include_adult=false&year=2018'

Why i am getting the first result? The year is "1978" but i am searching for "2018". Can someone help me?

Because this movie was re-released theatrically in 2018. "year=" check all the release dates listed for each movie.
You need to use "primary_release_year" instead of "year=".
