With https://api.themoviedb.org/3/movie/603/images?api_key=XXX I get the 45 backdrop Images of the movie The Matrix. How do I get the posters?
You even can show me the link to the documentation, where I havent found it ;-)

With this API, you get all the images associated to the movie, wether they are backdrop or poster.
But, you have to indicate the language you want.
