The Movie Database Support

Hi there!

I have encountered an issue that i cant seem to figure out!

If i make the following call: https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/1396?api_key=<API_KEY>&append_to_response=watch/providers,translations i get only providers from Taiwan. However if i change remove translations from the URL so it looks like this: https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/1396?api_key=<API_KEY>&append_to_response=watch/providersI get all providers. Does anyone know why this is happening? I cannot replicate the issue on most TV shows, but Breaking Bad seems to be constantly broken for some reason.

Happy new year, and thanks for all the hard work!

Best regards

I just tested your two API Requests.
The answer for both is the same.
Only shows Netflix in Taiwan.
And doing the specific API Request also the same response.
https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/1396/watch/providers?api_key=THE_KEY

Yup, it seems to be more broken than it was yesterday, now providers is always showing the wrong information(it might have been cached or something before)

Hmm today i get only Taiwan for both as well. Yesterday it was different though, but that being said it only being in Taiwan is incorrect. The issue seems to be inconsistent which makes it a lot harder to troubleshoot.

Yes, it could be a cache issue.
The update can take up to 6 hours.
But remember, importing JustWatch data is done daily.
There may have been some change in this data.

We have had some variation of this problem with Breaking Bad for at least a month. We just thought we had a breakthrough when we finally saw the correct data, but that is broken now :(

EDIT: The issue also affects the TMDB main site https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1396-breaking-bad (should show Netflix for almost all countries)

Just a update, but Breaking Bad is still broken and shows no providers.. Is there a issue with the imports from justwatch?

Is there a issue with the imports from justwatch?

If the JustWatch website informs that the film is available in a certain country,
and here on TMDb that same country does not have this information,
then yes, there is probably an error in one of the stages of the process.

Or the data is not available in the file that JustWatch makes available daily,
Or the data is in the file but the TMDb didn't import it due to some error.

Also, new movies on JustWatch take 1-2 days to appear here on TMDb.
1 day to be inserted in the file made available by JustWatch.
This file is generated once a day.
1 more day for the import to be available on TMDb.
The import is done once a day.
So sometimes it's better to wait 24 to 48 hours.
And of course, mistakes happen.
Only Administrator Travis Bell can verify.

I'm going to change the title of this conversation by adding JustWatch Sync.

It has been an issue since the ticket was submitted, almost 2 months ago.

This is still an issue, is there any plan on investigating or contacting JustWatch to hear if they are having issues with their imports?

Breaking bad is still not showing any providers in Denmark... (Even though it is on Netflix, and JustWatch also shows this) Any updates on this? It sometimes randomly comes and goes, but will eventually end up going away again.

The following API call: https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/1396?api_key=<API_KEY>&append_to_response=movie_credits,tv_credits,external_ids,watch/providers does not give any providers but in TW.

EDIT: It was shortly there yesterday, but is gone again. Im thinking it might be related to the export issue JustWatch had a couple months ago?

The API call for Breaking Bad still only returns providers for TW, is this broken?

Yes this is broken. It has been for awhile.
