Got some channels that should be listed as certified official outlets for distributors.
Paramount Movies Digital (although this seems to have stopped being updated, it was definitely an official channel for Paramount): https://www.themoviedb.org/video/channel/UCOwaTlA0nHlqMf4HBEWmLaw
Paramount Movies UK (UK page for Paramount Pictures): https://www.themoviedb.org/video/channel/UCXwyXuLskuYsZiWNh0STJdw
Sky Cinema (UK film channel and distributor, who recently split off their Cinema uploads from the main Sky channel, which is certified): https://www.themoviedb.org/video/channel/UCP6T93Fe7qKYlvb_5Cs8Z4g

what about https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt2Gtug8MDo8dplLhlZSTTA
I understand that channel releases full movies and the video links are links to full movies - but the videos themselves are trailers...?

Im a little surprised it only has the one trailer there....I swear Ive added at least half a dozen trailers from that channel over the years if not more....unless theyve been removed since from the channel or from this site..

I've seen trailers from there before too, but since they don't display properly I think someone must have removed them. This one video showed up as "unavailable" for me so I deleted it.

Huh it shows for me though. Geo restriction? I added another one but I think this site always thinks its a different youtube channel? at least for these two trailers tmdb seems to think theyre from different channels? so maybe all the ones that have been added in the past, tmdb thinks its all from different youtube channels...

When you say its unavaiable for you for you, are you on a computer and viewing it through the movie's main page?

Yes, geo restrictions. The Liberal Arts video is only allowed in Australia and New Zealand so not a video we can accept. The Stranger Than Fiction one was only allowed in NZ. We want worldwide availability.

Really? I thought the policy was that videos without restrictions are preferred. imo, deleting every video that isnt available in every country seems a little extreme/impractical. It would make sense if there were other videos that arent geo restricted, for the geo restricted ones to be deleted, but with Stranger than Fiction thats currently (or was) the only trailer (and video) available.
Actually thats what the contribution bible says too:
"YouTube videos that have no region restrictions are preferable." (which would literally mean that videos with region restrictions are videos that this site accepts??)

The problem here is that all users outside of Australia and New Zealand will click a trailer that won't play. That is a terrible user experience and not something we want to see. In the other case there is an alternative trailer available and the Netflix trailer is at least available in more countries. Note that I'm talking about the main English translation here, which is the default for many other translations without a trailer available.

So if there was no alternative trailer available for that other case and only the Netflix one was available, would you delete it then since people will click on it and it wont play and it will be a terrible user experience? Or is it available in enough countries (whatever that means lol)?
In any case, does that mean you agree with me that that part in the contribution bible is not-up-to-date and/or misleading? cause I have been adding these kinds of videos for probably 7 years now lol.
edit: I feel like the better solution would just be to program the site not to show videos that are unavailable for a user, so that way the video can still be viewed by people where the video is not unavailable to. doing this will also mean that users from those countries will still have videos available for them even if the non-restricted videos one day get removed- as video and channels (even official ones) often do. but maybe its too hard to program/not a priority

I have posted about it internally to see what the other mods think. The problem with allowing any such trailers is that we have plenty of users living outside the US, UK, Australia etc still using the main English translation on TMDb or for their home systems. I have always deleted these videos so that's why moderators need to get on the same page to make this work. I have personally allowed videos that are available worldwide EXCEPT for one or two blocked locations (like Singapore or Thailand). That's my interpretation of 'preferred' in the rules! Not that a trailer available in only one or two countries should be allowed to be added.
