Sort multi search API result based on release date

I am using following API for getting search results
https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/multi?api_key=<<api_key>>&language=en-US&page=1&query=John
Is there any way to get this results based on release date [Sort result based on release date] ?

Only the movie and TV show search query.

Hi @SimonM,
There is no sorting on search at this time. Only discover.
