API Request Limit for an App

Hi!
I am pretty new to development with a 3rd party API and I wanted a little more detail on the request limit. I saw it was 40 requests every 10 seconds if I remember correctly. Is that under the one API key? So if I had 40 users search for a movie that would be the limit for 10 seconds? Just looking for a little clarity for a layman.

Actually found a similar post on here that said it was based on IP not API key so I think I understand the request rates! Thank you!

Yup, you got it. We only limit by IP address.
