The Movie Database Support

Hello folks,

I have a problem when retrieving the seasons of a tv series. In this example: The X-Files. The problem aso exists in Game of Thrones for example.

When I retrieve the data from the api I get the following results:

  1. There is some strange season 0 which is not season 1 because you can see the episode count is wrong
  2. The release date for that "season 0" is before the one of season 1 which shouldn't be the case. Seasons should be ordered by releaseDate ascending.

Is that a bug? What is this "seasons 0"?

Thanks in advance!

Bye

Season 0 is the season number designated for show specials. It is not included in the episode counts for a TV show only season 1 and up are. Since specials can drop at any time, the dates could be at any time before or after season 1 or later.

If you don't have any interest in specials, you can skip it all together.

Ah, thanks for clearification. So just to make that one clear: If no specials are there, no item with season_number=0 is there, right? It then starts with season_number=1?

That is correct. You'll notice that the name of season 0 in English anyways should pretty much always be "Specials".

OK, thanks for the quick help!
