Is it possible to query all movies released in a specified year? (for example, I want all movies released in "2016"). And if so, how would I do that? I'm new to APIs, but I can't figure it out. Thanks!! :)

Yes, it is. You want to look at the discover movie method. There's some good examples of what you can do with discover here.
