About year on movies

Is it possible to just put release years on film? In order not to miss the information, especially to add an old or upcoming movies. Several movies only provide information years. For old movies, sometimes unknown details. Sadly, if left blank, auto displays the years of 1900. :(

You can put a 01.01 or 31.12 to make the date complete, if someone knows the exaxt date it can be changed later
