API search by release status?

Is there no way to search for movies by their release status? ie whether it's released, in theaters, etc? From looking at the documentation it looks like you can get coming soon and in theaters, but not released in stores
I'm working on building an app that will just tell me about new releases in the 7-15 days so I know what I want to watch for in stores or what not.
Right now I can call discover for movies with a release date greater than the last 15 days which as of this writing gives me 1272 results.
the only way I can find to get the release status at the moment is to get the full movie information but this requires an extra api call for each result which seems like a lot of overhead....

Hi becausepurple,
We have plans on releasing the ability to query and filter by different releases types and well as country specific dates but at this time these are both not possible. They'll be done together and my best guess right now is January-ish.

janurary ish is not so bad actually. as long as it's in the works that pleasing to hear.

Hi becausepurple,
We're half way there, while we still don't support specifying a country release filter on discover (this will be coming), we do now support multiple release dates per country and type. You can read more about his here.
There's a new API method that supports returning this data which is documented here.
