The Movie Database Support

Hi Travis,

the correct word in the german translations for "Credits" is "Credits" (we use the english word, too). Sadly I can't contribute without creating yet another account or giving @Locale (whoever that is) full access to my repos. Which may make sense for Project owners, but not for random translation contributors.

Regards, Karl

Hi Karl,

I've made this change for German, thanks for pointing it out. Locale (www.localeapp.com) is who we use to manage these translations.

Cheers.

Maybe you (as lead of one of the feature popular public projects) can take it up to them? I'm just a meager user, contributing one string :-)

This is what I am being asked to agree to:

Review permissions

Personal user data

Email addresses (read-only)

  • This application will be able to read your private email addresses.

Repositories

Public and private

This application will be able to read and write all public and private repository data. This includes the following:

  • Code

  • Issues

  • Pull requests

  • Wikis

  • Settings

  • Webhooks and services

  • Deploy keys

I see that asking for the email adresses (read-only) make lots of sense, but I don't see why a translator would want to give them full access to all my public and private repositories. Its something else for a project owner, who might like to have the hooks to connect both services be set up automatically.

PS: This is the warning when I hit "learn more": This is one of the most expansive configurations you can permit, so accept it with caution!

PPS: Forgive the bad formatting giving up on that

Ya, that seems a little excessive just to create an account to contribute some translations.

I know you can create a user account via just an email address, that might be your best bet but with regards to GitHub, you'll have to ask them why they need so many privileges ;)
