API data after a content edit

Just edited some content on your site after I spotted a mistake. I saved the changes and if I refresh the page I can see the content.
However, if I pull that same content via the API it is still giving me the content with the previous error. In other words, the API is not pulling in the changes.
I wondered if it was the cache but I cleared that out and still the data is the same.
Is there something else I need to do?
