Should field 'id' be unique across movies and tv show episodes?

Based on feedback from an user I detected that some movies and tv show episodes share the same 'id'. Is this 'by design'?
For example https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/52/season/2/episode/12?api_key=[your api key] and https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Mouchette&api_key=[your api key] gives the same id.

No, ids are not unique site wide, only within each media type.
