Hello, my question is very simple. Together with other friends I'm opening a movie site in Italy that would like to use pictures of your database. We will have many reviews.
The website will have a payment part, which is not the one with the pictures taken from here. is commercial use, or not?
thanks

Hi Andreap,
If the sole purpose of your application is to derive revenue, then it is probably considered commercial. If you have "free" plans/members but encourage your users to donate into some kind of a "VIP" status, I would probably say no, it is not commercial.
Cheers.

Are you looking to request an API key? If so, you can do that from within your account page, under the "API" section.
Cheers.

Hi Travis, I've successfully request a Developer API Key for www.longtake.it
But I've a very last question. Few days ago, my colleague (user id: lachi) wrote an email to info@themoviedb.org. Here is the text:
"Dear Sirs, I'm a co-founder of the web project LongTake.it, that will be online starting from autumn 2015. LongTake is designed to merge a collection of more than 20.000 film reviews from 1895 to toady with a social network that will allow our users to exchange opinions, comments and information on cinema and a customized algorithm that will suggest movies on the basis of taste and mood. We will also offer a premium service that will allow our audience to have access to special discounts for movie theaters and legal streaming platforms and to events such as festivals and premieres. We would like to use TMdb in order to obtain posters and print screens for our reviews. Should we apply for a commercial API key? Can you inform us about prices and fees? LongTake is a project of Lachi S.rl., a start-up supported by PoliHUb, the business incubator of Politecnico di Milano, one of our most important universities. Thank you for your attention and I hope to hearing from you soon. Best regards"
So I ask you: is it all right? Can we use my Developer API Key to proceed with our website programming?
Thanks, Andreap

Yes, the developer key is fine. Just let us know when you launch so we can update our records if we need to.
