I just changed a movie (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1) in Kodi from mkv to mp4 and when The Movie Database Addon scanned it nothing came up. I just spent awhile trying to see what was wrong so I removed and then added a movie I put in yesterday that was recognized (The Jerk) and it wasn't recognized today. Again no information was retrieved. So then I cleared all movie information and then changed the content back to TMD scraper and nothing was recognized. Finally I changed the scraper to the Universal Movie Scraper (using iMDB) and it found information on all the movies. So it appears that something is wrong with TMD. Is this correct or am I missing something? I haven't changed anything on my server or in Kodi since yesterday. Oh yeah, it's also not working on my Galaxy Note 4 phone.

It is currently all over the KODI forums also where people are unable to get TMDB scrapped items working properly. I got some this morning (I think) but stopped when I pushed more this afternoon...
A lot of us purged our entire library to check for KODI issues, some even uninstalled/reinstalled, etc. But the scraper refuses to get movies again. Someone found out there was an early patch to TMDB last night or something? Booboo there?
Thinking out loud...

We added 3 new fields to the search results (
genre_ids
,original_language
andoverview
) this morning and if I was a betting man, I'd bet that is the cause. Since Kodi uses regex to parse the JSON results, it can be super finicky with the response.I'd suggest hitting the Kodi guys up for a fix.
Cheers.

Hey Joe,
Honeycutter is a dev, I think he is just making more a general observation about the fact that Kodi uses regex to parse web services instead of a legitimate JSON parser ;)
