TV Shows in Lists

Is there any reason why tv shows are limited and cannot be included in lists? I realize the main driving force for this site is movies, but there is a huge lack of open databases that include both movies and tv shows, this being one of those few. That said, it's very frustrating that lists cannot include tv shows. I am developing an application that would heavily use this feature if it were available, and it would also drive users to the site (both directly and indirectly through this app) to create content (mostly lists).
Are there any plans for this? If so, is there an ETA?

Yup, this is planned. The ticket for it is here, and is close to being the next feature I work on.

I guess while I have the ear of the dev, are there any planned features for list privacy settings, and tagging lists? It would be nice if my app were able to directly contribute to other people's lists that are tagged for my app. I'd rather not have my app create a bunch of lists that start with [MYAPPNAME] or some other hideous name since I'd want the lists to behave like any other person's list (which is probably a better community contribution in general.
Also, is the main website/api open source, and if so, what framework are you using?
