Searching with year yields no result?

Hi all,

This search string doesn't return any results...

http://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Maleficent+2014&language=en&api_key=xxxx

But this one does?

http://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Maleficent&language=en&api_key=xxxx

Any ideas?

Hey Jörgen,

We haven't supported searching with a year in the query for around 2 years now. It's up to the client to decide how they want to handle this.

On the API side of things if you want to search for a year, you need to use the ?year= param as described in the docs.

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?query=Maleficent&language=en&api_key=xxxx&year=2014
