Hi Travis,
Wondered whether we could add the following jobs :
Carpenter
Casting Associate
Hair Department Head
Thx
Mod edit:
You can request missing crew jobs in this topic. The new crew jobs have to be English and free of spelling mistakes. Please specify in which of the following departments each new job should be created: Directing, Writing, Editing, Camera, Production, Art, Costume & Make-Up, Visual Effects, Sound, Lighting, or Crew.
Kindly try to avoid making duplicates job requests (search the last few pages), or requesting crew jobs that are already added to TMDb.

Bing says Series Director is:
Series directors are responsible for how an entire series of programmes looks. They work on big-budget, multi-camera programmes, either in the studio or on outside broadcasts. A multi-camera production is one in which there are many cameras filming the programme.
Movie Series: ie Harry Potter, Twilight, Star Wars, Divergent.

I would assume this is fine. Do you have reasons to believe a television "Director" and a "Television Director" are two different jobs? I have to say, I don't think I've ever encounter an actual TV Director credit.

Do we have anything specifically for linguists, consulting linguists, language consultants, etc.? For example Jessica Coon from Arrival (2016), who is currently not listed in the TMDb crew page.
Or are they considered to be under Script Consultant, Script Editor, Additional Script Supervisor, Assistant Script, Script Coordinator, Script Supervisor, Script Researcher, Researcher, Researcher Assistant, etc.?

t sounds like linguist Jessica Coon could be considered a script consultant for that particular film. According to Wikipedia: "Coon was consulted during the finalization of the script for Denis Villeneuve's Arrival for her linguistics expertise."

Isn't "distributor" usually attributed to a company, not an individual?

Could you please add Assistant Animation Director to Visual Effects? I don't find where this role would fit in the current jobs list.

Another important role in animation which isn't currently available is Background Supervisor (mentioned in this article, for one example, and in the credits of many English-language drawn animation productions).
This is the English equivalent of the Japanese 美術監督 in animation. 美術監督 never means Art Director; in live-action it means Production Designer, while just 美術 means Art Director. In animation, 美術監督 means the person who is in charge of the backgrounds, which is not what Art Director means on English-language animated productions. On those, an Art Director is someone who supervises the whole look, in including characters, colours and effects.
