The Movie Database Support

The API documentation for videos (at least for movies) does not match the response from server:

{"id":168530,"quicktime":[],"youtube":[{"name":"Trailer 1","size":"HD","source":"pXJDIheyXfQ","type":"Trailer"},{"name":"Trailer 2","size":"HD","source":"JkQIjjvbfGs","type":"Trailer"}]}

here you're returning an array of quicktime and youtube objects where as the documentation states it as a single results object with sitename as a field, source=key etc.

This is probably just a documentation error

{ "id": 550, "results": [ { "id": "533ec654c3a36854480003eb", "iso_639_1": "en", "key": "SUXWAEX2jlg", "name": "Trailer 1", "site": "YouTube", "size": 720, "type": "Trailer" } ] }

Cheers, Damien

I see that the structure as documented matches for tvshows:

{"id":1399,"results":[{"id":"5335ee1dc3a36826430000e6","iso_639_1":"en","key":"s7L2PVdrb_8","name":"Opening Credits","site":"YouTube","size":720,"type":"Featurette"}]}

Are you sure you weren't calling /trailers on movies?

I haven't seen a single /movie/{id}/videos that is returning the old trailers response. Can you provide an example? Id 168530 that you have up there is correct:

{
  "id": 168530,
  "results": [
    {
      "id": "533ec701c3a368544800a083",
      "iso_639_1": "en",
      "key": "pXJDIheyXfQ",
      "name": "Trailer 1",
      "site": "YouTube",
      "size": 720,
      "type": "Trailer"
    },
    {
      "id": "533ec701c3a368544800a084",
      "iso_639_1": "en",
      "key": "JkQIjjvbfGs",
      "name": "Trailer 2",
      "site": "YouTube",
      "size": 720,
      "type": "Trailer"
    }
  ]
}

Ahh, yes I was using /trailers. I did not notice that was changed as well.

I will change to using the /videos API so I can create a common structure between movies and shows. Did you deprecate the 'trailers' API?

EDIT: Just realised after switch I can no longer use IMDb so might have to stick to old method for a while.

Hey Damien,

The old /movie/IMDB_ID was never officially supported nor has it ever been documented. The trailers method is deprecated but will still contain the trailers like it did before, there just some new functionality that will be getting added that you would need the new videos method for.

I might suggest joining our Google+ developer group: https://plus.google.com/communities/113373898362999515939?hl=en

Cheers.

Thanks Travis,
