The Movie Database Support

When looking at a movie (Cimarron Strip) with missing director I noticed that the imdb id refers to a series on imdb. So I looked for a series of that name and noticed that both the series and the movie have the same imdb on file. the movie: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/189886-cimarron-strip?language=en the series: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/11988-cimarron-strip?language=en

Hi Karl,

I'm not sure this will change because as it stands right now, we have allowed (and plan to keep) the single flat entries of most mini series in the movie section. This area isn't feature complete as the plan is to kind of "roll" them together but because of this, the IDs an be duplicated across collections. An example of what I am taking about is Top of the Lake.

Now, what looked like the real issue here is that the movie should be deleted, and it looks like it already has.

I'm pretty sure this is by design as we do allow mini-series in the movie section.

I also had to delete the entry from the movie section as it was clearly a TV-series and not a mini-series.

(EDIT: Travis was faster!)

Hmm, that makes sense. It also leads to the question how to handle movies that are related to a series and have been imported from thetvdb as specials. Maybe one could mark movies as "related" to a series and warn if there is a imdb id collision when the movie is not related to the series, hinting that the relation can be added or the movie removed?

E.g. Dead like me: life after death the movie http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/14849-dead-like-me-life-after-death?language=en and the "special episode" http://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2566-dead-like-me/season/0/episode/1?language=en

Yes, that is the plan. There will be a way to join and relate the items together.
