For a few years the above item has worked wonderfully well as a Media hub for me, however recently it has stopped collecting movie info automatically or manually.
Does anyone have any ideas why this may have happened?

Hi macshlong,
When did it stop working?
In any case, nothing has changed aside from us shutting down the old 2.1 API back on September 15. It would be best to contact Iomega about this though, as I have knowledge of how or what they're using.
Cheers.

September sounds about right to be fair, I don't know a lot about API and the things associated with it, Iomega are the most useless company in the support sections so I came here first.
With the old api being shut down I guess the only hope would be a firmware update on my side if they have released one? Is that the way i should be thinking?

Yes, that's right. We gave a fair bit of notice and notified everyone so this shouldn't have been a surprise to them. Hopefully they have an update and you can get things back to working.
Best of luck!

Hello,
My ScreenPlay also stops works in September, in the same way described by macshlong. I write to the Iomega support, the company now is Lenovo, the response is: "Unfortunately these products are end of life and no longer in development, it is highly unlikely any new firmware will be released for this hardware..."
It's any possibility that we can use the old api again?
Regards!!

Hi cgondola,
That sucks.
Unfortunately no. The infrastructure that ran 2.1 doesn't even exist anymore. It was shut down for many reasons but most importantly that the cost to run and maintain it was just too high.

Hello again,
I'm writing, if this help other users like me. I found a Workaround: 1- deactivate the "get movie info" from the iomega box. 2- connect your IOMEGA to the PC (map the network drive, or using the USB) 3- download WDTVHubGen from https://wdtvhubgen.codeplex.com/ 4- get back your Movie info & Cover
Regards!!
