Get a "Known For" list for a person using the api

Is there a way to get a "Known For" list for a person using the api, the way it is done on your person web page? When I get the "credits" list, it has many more (all?) titles.

Not currently but there is an open ticket for it here.

Thanks! Another question:
When I get the "credits" for a director or other non-actor person, it seems I only get movies in which they appear as a cast member.
I would like to be able to get all the movies a person directed, etc., or perhaps more general, the "filmography" for a person.

The /person/credits call has that information. There are a cast and crew objects returned in the root of the response. Take a look at the crew field.
