Why are most of the Wallnader movies removed from TMDB? I know IMDB says it is a TV series, but they get released on DVD/Bluray prior to airing on TV. Doesn't that qualify them to be movies?
All of the Wallander movies have been shown on TV, so why aren't they all removed from TMDB?

Hi, sorry for the confusion. The DVD/Bluray releases are not relevant since it's how they are made that matters. The movies are made with the production methods used for television (using the same sets, actors and personnel to save money), which makes it possible to make six 90 minute episodes in a year.
Normally no Wallander movies would have been accepted here, but since some of them have been shown theatrically we thought those should remain. But perhaps they should all be removed? They are all available over at TheTVDB: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=82505&lid=7 (Even though the latest ones have not been added yet).
The same issue can be seen with the Beck movies.

I just deleted a post which wasn't very nice and sent that user an e-mail. Or actually, the e-mail was sent before I knew about his attitude problems.
Anyway, here is a link to Beck at TheTVDB where you can get all the episodes: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=82796&lid=7
Change the last number to 8 to get it in Swedish.

Ok, I get it.
But I really can't see why all these TV movies can't be at both TMDB and TheTVBD so people can choose if they want to have them as Movies or TV series in their libraries.
And if you want things a bit more consistent you should remove "Johan Falk" and all the "Lisa Marklund's Annika Bengtzon" movies, which are also avaliable at TheTVDB.

I think had these not been shown theatrically it would have been a clear-cut case of a TV-series.
My perfect comparison would be Inspector Morse. 33 episodes, 100 minutes per episode. But what if some episodes here and there would have been shown on the big screen? Yes, that would have complicated the issue.
Thanks for reminding me about my ever growing to-do list. I will get to them soon and likely keep the ones that have been screened theatrically. I also have a note to investigate the Irene Huss series...

Yes, "Irene Huss" is definitely the same deal, and "Hassel". I would say pretty much all Swedish cop stuff is the same.
Oh, and by the way. I guess you know this is in the Help section: Adding And Editing Content.
And If these are not TV movies, what are they then?

They would be TV movies if they were filmed and released once or twice per year. Now they are done as a series. One could argue that every Inspector Morse episode is a TV movie as well, but in the end it is more about the production.
And one of the users adding all the Beck movies again the other night added them to collections of Season one, two and three. A TV-movie usually never belong to a season.
Anyhow, it looks like we are pretty much stuck here and have to agree to disagree about this.

Yep, like you said. Let's agree to disagree. :) And keep up the good work with the site.

Hi,
Now i understand why XBMC cant update my Wallander movies. I think its a bit "sad" not to be able to see my wallander collection under My Movies in XBMC, in my humble opinion theese movies are just Movies, not a TV-serie. In Sweden, you go and rent theese movies, not so often you do that with a tv-serie...

Vinema, have you tried getting them from TheTVDB? The last ones have been added there now. Link is listed above, but here it is again: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=82505&lid=8

Hi and thanks for quick reply.
Yes, i have TVDB for my tv-series, works great. The problem is that i cant choose tvdb in the movie section, therefore Wallander wont show up when i click Movies. I guess i can make a library for my Wallander movies in the tv-area, but since im a swede that dont make any sense :)
I understand how TMDb reasons around Beck, Wallander, etc, but for a Swede it dont make much sense anyway. We dont see it lika a tv-show, the same way we dont see Dexter or Breaking Bad as a movie.
Thanks anyway.
