In languages other than English, it's common to have accented names. For instance: "Macunaíma (1969)". However, TheMovieDB can't find the movie by typing the accented name, or even the name without accent, but with year. Only "Macunaima" (without accented "i") can be found. There are other titles that can't be found either.

Hi quintellarosa,
Searching with the accented i
í
seems to be working fine for me:https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=Macunaíma

Try this: Macunaíma (1969)
(Put the year...)

We don't support year searches years like that. You have to search for it with the
y:
syntax, like so:Macunaíma y:1969
Ie: https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=Macuna%C3%ADma+y%3A1969
Cheers.

I don't get it. ALL may other movies use the syntax ().
Is this a special issue with accented names followed by (year)?

Nope, not a special issue. It's possible some of the other titles have the title with a year in parenthesis added as an alternative title but we do not support searching for years like that. It's deliberate and programmed as such. The only syntax we support to search with a year is the method I showed you above.
