I don't know why the collection was empty, but I see no reason why it should be populated with every Godzilla film. It seems you have included almost every film about Godzilla, but collections are about sequels. For example, I am pretty sure Godzilla (1998) and Godzilla (2014) are not sequels to any of these films, rather a reimagining of the Godzilla story, and an upcoming reboot.
I have emptied this collection - and did it again.
Godzilla movies are not a straigt movieline. Use the list function of tmdb for an own Godzilla Collection, but not a Collection itself. It's not thought for movies like this.
For example: There are at least 4 Godzilla movies with a flashback to the genuine Godzilla from 1954 - but they have nothing to do with themselfes. Only because the name "Godzilla" this doesn't mean they belong into one collection. Even the other type of sorting like showa era is not the right one. This sorting style has to do with another thing and is not movie related.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II and Tokyo S.O.S are movies which could be put into one collection. But how many collections do you want to create? And how will you put multiple times Godzilla 1954 into the many created collections?
Currently not possible, so please just use the list function.
Thank you.

I don't know much about Godzilla films. Perhaps those who are familiar with Godzilla films can review how Wikipedia has the films categorized: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_(franchise)#Series_history
If Wikipedia's categorize is accurate and more-or-less in tune with how we define collections, I think we should mimic their categorization.

Yeah, I took the pragmatic route and put every Godzilla film I found into this collection. I.e. like it's been before it's been emptied.
I agree that a more sensitive approach would be a better fit. I've put it on my TODO list, though I'll probably don't get to it until ~mid june.
Thanks for the feedback!
