No it shouldn't. imgobject.com has been decommissioned (about 4 months ago) and will actually be going offline in the next few weeks. The configuration method is the canonical reference.
So when it have gone offline will the API return new url or shall I use the: http://d3gtl9l2a4fn1j.cloudfront.net/t/p/ URL?
I tested my application with this new url, and it doesn't return any images.

The API already does return the new URL, it's the URL you are seeing in the configuration method. It works just fine:
When imgobject.com goes offline, all requests to it will fail.

Sorry they are here. The getting process is a litle bit slower on this URL than the old URL. I have now updated the configuration in my application.
