How to fix IMDB validation errors that incorrectly report duplicate IMDB IDs

Sometimes The Movie Database will report an IMDB validation error with one or more films even though the IMDB IDs are different (or non-existent in some cases). This confuses users because the validation error is telling them the IMDB ID is already taken, but the IMDB IDs are actually different.
Fixing this is the same procedure as described in the knowledge base.
- Delete the IMDB IDs from each film referenced in the validation error and save.
- Re-enter each proper IMDB ID again and save. (If one or more entry does have a duplicate IMDB ID, obviously find the proper IMDB ID and use that one).

And if the IMDB ID text box is locked (for the one to be changed), what should be done?

In that scenario use the report link so a moderator can fix it.
