what Type means in alternative title

It's optional, used sometimes to describe the type for example, for A Good Day to Die Hard one could add "Die Hard 5" as an alternative title with a type of "Working title". It is not a required field.

how to change the default title to english

There's 2 titles to think about on TMDb. The "original" title and a "translated" title. Original title is used to be the official title in whatever language the official movie was produced in. Translated title is a translation in any other language. When you click the "Edit" link on the left hand sidebar you will be taken to the edit pages. Example. You will be brought to this page in whatever language you are browsing TMDb in and if a translation doesn't exist you will be prompted to create one.

In A Good Day to Die Hard's case, you'll notice that a lot of the fields are already locked in English but not in other languages.

Thanks for detailed explanation, but there is still a lot i need to learn, so I'm glad Help/ KB is on your to do list :)

Is there a level of member edit in themoviedb as there seem some that i cant edit, like a name of the actor/actress and their alternative names.

Or should i just use content issue forum to change them?

Also is there a way to merge a writer/name info? example
