Odd Filter Results

Did an API search on the word Gun and the year 2012. I got 8 films from 2012 and 2 films from 2011. 2011 being Machine Gun Preacher, The Gun Down. Neither were made or released in 2012. Any ideas?

Both have release dates added in both 2011 and 2012.

Can you specify country release date on search? e.g. It is nice that it searches all release dates, but it only returns the US one, which makes it really confusing.

No, you can't right now. The API is completely locale unaware. The year helper is just that, a helper to narrow results.
P.S. it doesn't return the U.S. one per-say. It returns whatever date is marked as the "primary" and if one hasn't been set then defaults to the U.S. If the U.S. doesn't exist, it simply grabs the first one on the list.

I guess it is just the fact that it searches on all, but only returns the primary. Confusing. Can appreciate the year just being a helper, but it can make for unfathomable results. Also, with places like Japan, it means that films release dates can span years.
