Michaël Benayoun (born 1973), known professionally as Michaël Youn, is a French actor, singer, comedian and television personality.

Youn was born Michaël Benayoun in Suresnes, France, to a family of Hungarian, Italian, Moroccan-Jewish, and Algerian-Jewish descent.

After his education as an announcer and theater actor, Youn joined the Paris radio station Skyrock in 1998. There, he made sketches and further entertainment during the morning show.

The popularity and success of Michael Youn, at the most important French private broadcast station brought Youn to the attention of French TV executives. In July 2000, he was hired for the new morning show "Morning Live" shown on Métropole 6. With Vincent Desagnat and Benjamin Morgaine, Youn did the entertainment part of the show. Like their sketches and public events (e.g. foam bath in a Paris fountain, and waking random Parisians up shooting the slogan of the show at them), their parodies were particularly successful. In particular, they parodied the music scene of Jean-Michel Jarre, casting-popstars, the Grand Prix and French rappers.

The success of "Morning Live" was mainly due to Youn and his colleagues – when they left the show, it remained on the air for just one more year.

After leaving "Morning Live" in 2002, Youn, Desagnat and Morgaine have focused on their music parodies: The three sailors "Piotr", "Olaff" and "Dvorjak" from the Eastern European "Slowakistan", the Bratisla Boys, appeared on the Western music market with their song "Stach Stach". The act became a big success and was number one on the French charts for ten weeks. On a 2004 list of the all-time best selling CDs in France, "Stach Stach" was listed number 30. The success even spread beyond the French border and reached Switzerland, where it was 2nd on the official charts. On 7 July 2002, the project was stopped by its makers. They claimed that the Bratisla Boys had vanished on the Dead Sea without a trace.

In 2003, the film "La Beuze", written by Youn and Desagnat, was released. Youn played the character of Alphonse, the "unknown son" of James Brown, who tries to start his own career – by creating a new (fictional) style called "Frunkp" (a mixture of funk and rap). The song "Le Frunkp" was published as a CD-single and Michaël Youn (under the name of Alphonse Brown) had another hit. This time, he even reached #1 in Swiss charts.

Youn had a comedy-tour, called Pluskapoil in 2003/04 (its sequel followed in 2005) and has acted in films. New music projects followed: Les Conards (The Imbeciles) with Comme des Connards, a cover version of My Sharona by The Knack, as well as a song for the movie Iznogoud (both were in the French Top 20). He had small roles in rather big films, and was part of Les 11 commandements in 2004 (A French film done in the style of MTV's Jackass, together with Desagnat and Morgaine).

In 2005, Youn was Iznogoud in the film version of the comic "Iznogoud" (also known as Isnogud). In 2006, he had the main role in the film comedy Incontrôlable. Those two films were not very successful, critics and viewers finding them only so-so. Both films starred Desagnat and Morgaine, but only in small roles.

In 2010, he directed his first movie "Fatal" in which he also stars. ...

Michaël Youn se fait connaître en animant le Morning Live sur M6 de 2000 à 2002. Il se lance ensuite comme acteur au cinéma avec des comédies comme La Beuze (2003), Les Onze Commandements (2004) et Iznogoud (2005), Incontrôlable (2006) Héros (2007) ou encore Coursier (2010) qui obtiennent pour certains un succès commercial, mais qui ont aussi suscité des critiques très mitigées. Il passe ensuite lui-même à la réalisation, livrant les satires Fatal (2010) et Vive la France (2013), dont il tient aussi les rôles principaux. Depuis 2014, il opère un passage à des rôles dramatiques à la télévision.

Parallèlement, il s'est aussi produit en diverses occasions comme chanteur ou rappeur, en interprétant des rôles de chanteurs parodiques comme «Alphonse Brown» et Fatal Bazooka, ou dans le groupe Bratisla Boys.

Michaël Youn, nom de scène de Michaël Benayoun, est né d'un père professeur de mathématiques puis psychologue en entreprises originaire du quartier de la Belle de Mai à Marseille et d'une mère chef de personnel. Ses grands-parents sont hongrois, italien, juif marocain et juif algérien.

Il monte sur scène dès l'âge de 3 ans. À 5 ans, il suit des cours de piano. Après avoir effectué deux ans de classe préparatoire économique et commerciale au lycée Notre-Dame de Sainte-Croix de Neuilly, il intègre l'ESC Nice, dont il sort diplômé en 1996, avec un master en management. Il se fait réformer P4 au service militaire en se faisant passer pour un fou, ce que son père lui reprochera. Ayant déjà affirmé une vocation artistique forte, il décide de parfaire son bagage en suivant des cours de radio au Studio école de France à Boulogne-Billancourt, puis de théâtre au Cours Florent à Paris.

De 1998 à 2000, il présente le journal de la matinale de Skyrock avec Les Filles, KTL et Sophie Gaillard, émission au sein de laquelle il prend de plus en plus d'importance.

Il anime ensuite durant près de deux années, entre juillet 2000 et mars 2002, le Morning Live sur la chaîne de télévision M6 et Fun TV. C'est dans le cadre de cette émission qu'il crée, avec Vincent Desagnat et Benjamin Morgaine, les Bratisla Boys, groupe musical parodique censément formé de marins reconvertis dans la chanson, et issus d'un pays imaginaire d'Europe de l'Est appelé le Slovakistan. Les Bratisla Boys, créés à l'origine pour un sketch parodiant l'Eurovision, sortent un album début 2002. Leur chanson phare Stach Stach rencontre un succès auprès du public; les compères annoncent ensuite à la fin de l'année la dissolution des Bratisla Boys, en prétextant la noyade des membres du groupe lors d'une croisière sur la Mer Morte. ...

Youn urodził się jako Michaël Benayoun w Suresnes we Francji, w rodzinie węgierskiej, włoskiej, marokańsko-żydowskiej i algiersko-żydowskiej. Po zdobyciu wykształcenia jako spiker i aktor teatralny, Youn dołączył w 1998 roku do paryskiej stacji radiowej Skyrock. Tam tworzył skecze i inne programy rozrywkowe podczas porannego programu.

Po opuszczeniu „Morning Live” w 2002 roku Youn, Desagnat i Morgaine skupili się na swoich parodiach muzycznych: Trzej marynarze „Piotr”, „Olaff” i „Dvorjak” ze wschodnioeuropejskiego „Słowakistanu”, Bratisla Boys, pojawili się na zachodnim rynku muzycznym z piosenką „Stach Stach”. Występ odniósł duży sukces i przez dziesięć tygodni był numerem jeden na francuskich listach przebojów. Na liście najlepiej sprzedających się płyt CD wszech czasów we Francji w 2004 r. „Stach Stach” znalazł się na 30. miejscu. Sukces rozprzestrzenił się nawet poza granice Francji i dotarł do Szwajcarii, gdzie zajął 2. miejsce na oficjalnych listach przebojów. 7 lipca 2002 r. projekt został zatrzymany przez jego twórców. Twierdzili, że Bratisla Boys zniknęli bez śladu na Morzu Martwym.

W 2003 r. ukazał się film „La Beuze” napisany przez Youna i Desagnata. Youn grał postać Alphonse’a, „nieznanego syna” Jamesa Browna, który próbuje rozpocząć własną karierę – tworząc nowy (fikcyjny) styl zwany „Frunkp” (mieszanka funku i rapu). Utwór „Le Frunkp” został wydany jako singiel CD, a Michaël Youn (pod pseudonimem Alphonse Brown) miał kolejny hit. Tym razem osiągnął nawet 1. miejsce na szwajcarskich listach przebojów.

Youn odbył trasę komediową pod nazwą Pluskapoil w latach 2003/04 (jego kontynuacja ukazała się w 2005 r.) i wystąpił w filmach. Następnie pojawiły się nowe projekty muzyczne: Les Conards (The Imbeciles) z Comme des Connards, cover My Sharona zespołu The Knack, a także piosenka do filmu Iznogoud (oba znalazły się we francuskiej Top 20). W 2010 roku wyreżyserował swój pierwszy film „Fatal”, w którym również zagrał.
