NY Post, Sep. 12, 2005: Leto, who booked a suite at the Meatpacking District hotspot while he was in town with his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars, has become infamous for calling and texting some of his underage objects of desire several times a day, reports one in-the-know snitch. “He’s been approaching all the girls and inviting them to his shows,” snickers the source. “Girls from IMG, Elite, Next and Women are staying there, and Jared has been hitting on all of them. He’s a serial texter. He is constantly texting these 16- and 17-year-old girls. It’s really kind of creepy.”

A2 was released Aug. 30, 2005. JL invited the models to a show. All the texting makes a little bit more sense now. I think he was in full A2 promo mode.

Intresting. A2 is 30STM’s breakthrough album. When the texting happened, the band wasn’t really known. They’d just release A2.

Eve now that JL doesn’t have to do a lot of promo, he still does. I can imagine him going completely bananas with the promo when A2 was released.

Bands, especially new ones, love to have lots of pretty girls in the front. That’s good PR. Is even better if they’re models or actresses.

I bet, if the models were older (27 or so), JL would have texted them the same. In this case, I don’t think he was preying on underage models. He might be a predator, but there’s a chance he wasn’t in this case. It wasn’t about them being so young. They weren’t just pretty girls either. They were pretty models + very young as bonus.

Most people focus on the age gap between JL and the models. I bet they don’t know about A2 being released and that bands would love to have lots of pretty ladies, models and/or actresses at their show.

I bumped into a few national band members as a teen. We’d ask for a pic. They’d always ask if we knew about the new album or if we were coming to the show. You can become member of the fan club. You’ll get a mail or text about new stuff first. You get a few text about a show. Then it stops when it’s over.

Maybe JL was a little “pushy” bc the show was that night or the next day. So he had a short amount of time to convince the models to come. If any of the text had something inappropriate, they’d have sent a screenshot to NYP.
