Giant Freakin Robot
Exclusive: Henry Cavill Starring In Adaptation Of Novel The Rosie Project
A trusted and proven source for Giant Freakin Robot has provided the answer. The actor has signed on to star in an adaptation of The Rosie Project, a romantic comedy that’s been in the works for several years now.
Henry Cavill will play Don Tillman, a genetics professor who has never been on a second date, but who now aims to fall in love. Tillman has Asperger’s syndrome (now referred to as autism spectrum disorder). The professor knows exactly what he’s looking for–everything that the bartender Rosie is not. She’s wild, chaotic, and carefree. The opposite of Don Tillman. The pair link up when she needs help finding her birth father and aims to take advantage of Don Tillman’s skills with genetics research.
This is an interesting next move for Henry Cavill, who appears to be looking to diversify the roles he’s playing.
This sounds more like the Clark Kent side to him. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to learn the professor character will be wearing glasses. His character is going to be detail-oriented, organized, and uptight. While the rom-com will have him be a swoon-worthy character, it’ll be different than when he takes his shirt off for The Witcher.

Does post-pandemic summer break mean anything to Cavill and his team?

OMG, if I didn’t know better, I’d say HC chose this role to drive me crazy. He’s going to play a science professor. He’s going to say sciency stuff. I don’t think I can handle this. And yes, yes, yes. He should look like Clark Kent. I can picture the curls, the glasses with a little chest hair showing. OMG, the voice and the accent. I need a cold shower.
Deadline doesn’t mention the Asperger part.
Anyway, some are yelling for representation. Someone with Asperger should play a character with Asperger. Fair enough. But who told them that HC doesn’t have it? Not many people walk around with a sticker with whatever they’re diagnosed with attached to their forehead. Does or did anybody know Anthony Hopkins has Asperger? No.
The same yellers didn’t know that HC’s mom has Scottish, Irish and English blood. They said HC lied about having Scottish blood when he posted about Highlander. But that simple info has been on HC’s Wiki and IMDb page for years.
And don’t just yell representation. Provide a suitable alternative too. Ryan Reynolds was attached to TRP five years ago. He was 39. HC’s 38. Both are tall, athletic and handsome. Find an actor with that description with Asperger. I checked three sites and found only two actors with Asperger that could be suitable for the role.

Games Radar
The Guardian: The Rosie Project tells the story of a socially challenged genetics professor, Don Tillman, who decides to look for a wife, drawing up a "scientifically valid" questionnaire to assist his quest for the perfect woman. Tillman lectures on Asperger's without realising that he displays its symptoms himself – in his use of language, difficulty in reading social signals and obsession with detail.
The Rosie Effect
The novel centers on Don Tillman, a socially-awkward genetics professor, and his attempts to prepare for parenthood, drawing on science and the unreliable advice of his friends. Don's unconventional approach alienates Rosie.
The Rosie Result
The novel centers on Don Tillman, a socially-awkward genetics professor, hoping to be able to help his son, Hudson, in ways that he wished he had been helped when he was a child, sets to work on "The Hudson Project".
They "yell" there are many actors with Asperger. When you ask for their names, you hear

HC’s supposed to be a professor, not a Playboy Ken doll. The shirt should be button up with a geeky bow tie. No chest hair.
Did Anthony Hopkins know he has Asperger? No. He knew he was different. But he found out in 2014.
Exactly.

What happened to HC’s just a guy, huh? lol
Are you nuts? Let HC show some chest hair. The glasses are nerd enough. BTW, Blue is clearly a nerd (lol), but she doesn’t look like a nerd. No glasses, no braces. She doesn’t have an inhaler, does she?

It’s not just on his Wiki and IMDb. It’s also in this old The Sunday Times article.
Richard Benson, March 13, 2016: Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born in Jersey in 1983, the fourth of five boys. Father Colin had left the Royal Navy to become a stockbroker, mother Marianne worked as a secretary in a bank. The family was traditional, the brothers fiercely loyal and kept in check by their redoubtable Scots-Irish mum — “Very, very strong. Awesome, and no bullsh*t. She’d say, ‘Yes, OK, you scuffed your knee. Now, pull yourself together and let’s go.’”

Is HC busy with TRP? Am I the only one who wants him to play a science professor? How’s that not hot? TBH, I prefer it over Argylle. Argylle looks like it'll be like most recent spy movies. Global trotting. Only one agent can catch the villain. I hope I’m wrong and HC better be super hot in it. And I mean Napoleon Solo level of hot. I’ll have to get Apple+ to watch him, FCS.

Doesn’t look like it.
You’re the only nerd. Duh!
HC’s already a geek. Adding nerd won’t make him hotter.
Is HC still Napoleon Solo hot?
Thank goodness he is. So much pressure to stay pretty and fit so girls can drool whenever they see you.

Oh, boo-hoo! Let’s cry a river for HC. What exactly does he have to do to be hot? Well, besides shaving his facial hair and hitting the gym. Nothing! He’s 6’1”, has a perfectly sculptured face with unblemished skin covering all the parts of his body that I can see.
Also, everybody should exercise to stay fit. Exercising is a healthy thing that can be used to achieve aesthetic goals too. A guy can get all the “desirable” body parts (biceps, triceps, pecs, abs, v-shaped torso) in the gym while a woman can’t (breasts, hourglass figure, butt). So yeah, I won’t cry a river for HC. He better stay hot if he knows what’s good for him.

Is this hot enough for you, b*tch?

Just to annoy you, HC should photoshop himself with some extra weight and write: “This is the weight I’m comfortable at.” Will you cry a river? Will you stop loving him?

I don’t know. But in January, OutstandingMX claimed on their IG that Elizabeth Gillies will star with HC in TRP.
OutstandingMX: Elizabeth Gillies y Henry Cavill protagonizarán 'The Rosie Project’ película romántica que tratará sobre la vida de un profesor universitario que padece de Asperger.

Not Napoleon Solo hot, but close enough. I'm on the fence about that hair cut. But Dua's hair looks weird too. So I'll survive Argylle, as long as HC doesn't have any facial hair. Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg aren't in this to distract me from an ugly stache. Got it, b*tch?
Actually, I’ll love him even more. So much that I’ll break my own rule and actually bother him. He’ll find out who, or to make it creepy, what is behind the Blue Rose account. Unlike what Rience told C, it won’t be nice to finally put a face to a name. Well, the face is nice, but it won’t do nice things to him.
I’ll change my plan to stalk HC for a pic and an autograph and then be on my way into a plan to kidnap him and keep him captive until he loses the weight. If that’s not love and devotion, I don’t know what is.
That's kind of out of the blue. What's there source?

Did you read the article where Simon said that he held on to HC? What he was holding was "huge like f*cking tree trunk."
If that's not crazy and selfish, I don’t know what is.
BTW, is your mind still in the gutter?
Square Mile: Regular Square Mile readers will recall that Henry Cavill was our cover star for Mission: Impossible – Fallout. “He’s a big nerd, isn’t he?” says Pegg, affectionately. “He’s a weird kind of super nerd. Like a walking door.”
He watched Fallout with Cavill in Paris, shortly before the official premiere in July 2018. “I held onto Henry’s arm for the whole thing – it’s like a fucking tree trunk. I was holding onto his bicep because it was so scary, but at the same time I was thinking, ‘Jesus Christ! These are huge!”’

HC’s a geek, not nerd. Nerds are into science and stuff like that. Or is HC secretly into science? OMG, if that’s true, let it be chemical science. OMG, if it’s chemistry, I may need a cold shower each time I hear his name.
Gutter? Are you out of your mind? Gutter would have been fun. My mind went somewhere else. I’m not sure what that place was, but I didn’t like. I don’t like being shocked and confused, Sue. At least, not at the same time.
Now I can laugh. I Thought SP was holding HC’s thigh. But you made me think something else. Something else that I’d call branch, not trunk.
