Proximity

The untrained eye will think there is no gap, but there is. HC leans back into his mother away from his date.

Also, he is holding is mother from de waistline approaching her. This may be to increase his security at a moment of discomfort.

Face:

Once more, HC doesn't smile or even bother to show teeth. This is becoming so redundant.

Although this is an obligatory group pic, and few people put effort into it, I expect HC and date to be all smiles. She's supposed to be a lady in love with a hot looking Hollywood actor but like Lucy and others, she doesn't.

HC -- again -- and date show no teeth, which is deceptive. This is supposedly a happy moment. Mama Cavill smiles. We see the balls of her cheek but not so for HC and date.

She tends to tighten the lips and the jaw, showing she is in a tense situation. And the presence of HC does not lower that level of anxiety.

Feet

HC's feet are pointed away from his date is pointing. He has one clearly pointing to the camera where the attention is, and one slightly pointed to his mother.

The date doesn't synch her feet in the same direction as HC. The tips of her toes are pointing to an exit.

Besides, with the foot pointing towards the cameras, he tends to create a wall between them. His hips are pointing towards his mother and he just rotates the top of his body into the cameras (because it doesn't turn completely).

Mirroring

Notice the Left couple. That's Aunt Lil and her husband. They are mirroring each other to the T. Both left elbows are pushed back and feet are in the same direction.

Other than HC and Date's gazing into the same direction w/o smiling, there is no real mirroring.

And even then, he is looking at a different camera than her.

I think it's a relationship that neither of them feels comfortable or safe. And it has no bearing on the length of the same, but there is no real connection, and unfortunately that is not something that can be easily resolved.

In this new short video, we can see the arrival at the theater. He walks after her, but again, there’s no touching.

He doesn't look at her (not head down at any time), seems more interested in what happens inside. When we make someone part of our activities, we look for them to make them feel safe. He stops to say hello, Dismissing the importance of his presence, he does not present her, she is not part of the situation, and the separation between the two is at least one step away.

She is however touring to look for him, and while she finds him, she does not look for his look, only his physical presence.

We Know it's a new relationship, but by seeing them I don t feel those butterflies in the stomach of any new relationship.

Is more like a casual date, which unfortunately didn’t work like lovers.

Papa Cavill has no time for this foolery. He did show up at the MI6 premiere when HC didn't bring a beard.

There is a gap and a block. Obviously, we see there is a large space between them, and then HC has his arm out to block. Plus, the "date" is sealing off her body w/her arms crossed in front of her. That's another block.

Blocks and gaps don't show affection; they create distance. Affectionate couples want to be closer to each other.

Face:

Once more, HC doesn't smile or even bother to show teeth and neither does his date. It seems as if the nephew and Mama Cavill are looking at the date, whose head is lowered.

A lowered head can be a protective posture. The date is outnumbered by the Cavills, and they can be viewed by her as a threat (not just physical threat).

Plus, lowering the head can be a sign of submission as if saying 'I dare not even look at you'.

Thanks for the analysis Poetist! It was along the lines with what i was thinking. I did see the video of them when they were arriving, and I must say they still seem quite tense around each other. I noted that he does the "hover hand" when she passes by while she is clearly touching him. I wonder if they got in a argument beforehand. He looked annoyed the whole time during the Manila premiere
