I didn’t really have a problem with them at the beginning. [But] when we went to the Canary Islands, there was lots of very fine volcanic dust flying about in the air, and my eyes were getting more and more sore. I just thought it was because it was so bright. I would literally have to go hide in the shade before each take, and then force my eyes to stay open for scenes because they were burning. I just thought I needed to toughen up a little bit.
Eventually my eye technician found me huddled in the shade and said, “I’m taking the contacts out.” And I said, “No I can’t look different off-camera or when the other actors are looking at me. It’s going to be more difficult for them. They’re accustomed [to] this look, and it’s all part of the design of the character so they have something to react to.” She said, “I don’t care. I’m taking the contacts out because you’re going to damage your eyes. I’m doing it. Otherwise I’m stopping shooting.” I was like, “Okay, okay, okay.” Took the contacts out. When we went back to Budapest, she took me in to have my eyes checked. It turned out that whatever the dust was, volcanic, it ended up scratching my eye, because it got behind the contacts and was just rubbing there for however long. It took about, I want to say three weeks to heal, and then the contacts were back in.
I guess he figured he didn't want it to come out that production had to stop because of him, so he rather suffer in silence. Then, when his eye tech said she will stop production if he didn't, I guess HC thought -- now, wait a minute. My coins! Oh well, off goes the lenses.

I love detective programs. How ugly to stop watching TV with her mom because she's better at finding the evil one 🤣
Couldn't anyone figure out the caper on Murder She Wrote? You mean to tell me HC was perplexed. Even as a kid, I knew the ending within ten minutes of watching serial shows.

I don't know about smaller. He's sitting farther away from the camera.
