I don't know if anyone remembers this miniseries, it was based on a book,...The North and the South. And a western like Shane or another period piece like Spartacus. I think I read somewhere were Henry mentioned he liked period pieces.

American Gigolo. He could bring a coldness and determination to the character that Richard Gere could not. The American Gigolo would be less of a victim as circumstances around him spun out of control. It would be different and better IMHO.

If I was going to cast him in any period pieces, I would cast him in one wherein he'll be using his natural British accent. Whether it's a historical set in Rome, Ancient Greece, or another period in British history, or maybe something like a fantasy where his British accent will be welcome (eg Game of Thrones). However, I think it's a bad idea for him to be cast in Shane or North and South, because HC strikes me as an actor who does terrible accents. I have seen the mini-series North and South, and he could probably do a Northerner soldier, but I don't think he can pull off someone from the South.
Game of Thrones will be ending soon, and HBO is working with George RR Martin to create a spin-off series. Maybe HC could get a part there, which will be great given how popular Game of Thrones is around the world.
LOL! Most people would be drawn to this topic because they like Henry Cavill. Yet you responded. I started to list the films featuring a plank of wood but decided they were too numerous to list.

Too numerous to list.
It is heartening to know that Cavill will never be out of work.

I think it would be a role to suit his charisma and acting style.
However there are not many films that feature a plank of wood.

@ToniTurnyne , You're right about the accents. He needs to work with a coach that will help him.

He's worked with coaches before, but if he's not going to practice and retain what he learns then he's back at square one.

James Cameron’s reboot of the Terminator. The lead is a female, but HC can be her tech nerd bf. It will be like Clark Kent working for Cyberdine.

Alexander the Great. He wants to play him and he's good for period films.
