Well, back in the day, he didn't have social media, so that has to be considered. Then again, he signed up for IG under Dany's control, and I don't think he would have done that if she wasn't in his ear.

Well he kind of did, didn't he? He used some 'secret code name' for it (but everyone seemed to know about it). You would think his bro Charlie would have advised him to have one official one earlier on.

I think he signed before that. I recall when we were still in the IMDB board someone had a thread called 'HC has Instagram'. Having said this his early posts weren't exactly riveting. I remember some people noticing that he spent a lot of time plugging one product after another -- Emirates, some Sony product. Or it's something about some war Memorial Day in the UK.
That's why I have noticed the sudden frequent updates from the set of his movies, which reminds me of how the Rock operates.
Of course, before this official IG account, there was the 'secret account'.
