Moonlight is a stunning film with much deserved acknowledgment. I was so excited to see it win, on so many levels. Maybe this is the beginning of the sea change so many of us have been hoping for, when it comes to diversity and the dropping of historic barriers to casting and inclusion in Hollywood. More specifically, will we see the barriers facing out gay performers such as Matt and others lessen? Will we begin to see the same opportunities for work as their straight fellow actors broaden? What are your thoughts? Does this make you more hopeful or not?

Hoping to watch very soon, is it really that good? I keep promising myself to watch & not getting round to it.
Talking about diversity & barriers - it's happening just really not quickly. I think movies like Moonlight winning, Lion & others getting nominated all help. Is it enough? Not by a long shot.
In my heart I think Matt (and other actors) know they have an uphill battle. Actually I think Matt in his own refined way is fighting through those barriers.

I'm ashamed to see that I haven't seen even one of the films nominated. :(
