In 1977, Dudot was instrumental in developing Renault’s pioneering 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, marking the first successful turbo era in Formula 1. This revolutionary engine powered Renault and later other teams, including Lotus, to numerous victories in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
