Humphrey Bogart is probably my favourite actor, and may be the only prolific star from whom just about every movie is, at the very least, worth a look. But even the very greatest are fallible and - while it's a very good film, with a great star turn from Bette Davis - Bogart is all at sea as the Irish gardener in Dark Victory. He's actually laughably hopeless, even endearingly so.
Would anyone else have a pick for Bogie's sore spot?

I completely agree: His role and performance in Dark Victory just doesn't work. To put it another way, "Prognosis: Negative".

His worst performance was in the films he never acted in.
