He did fine as Tuco in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". But also equally powerful in that film was Lee Van Cleef. No matter how very fine the film is throughout Cleef had the best scenes in the two early scenes his character kills in -- he is the real acting hit of the film not Wallach.
Wallach wrote an autobio where he insulted America's armed forces where said he never understood why army sgts. were so angry. That is, for those of you who do not know, a fundamental of military life. Stern discipline. What a knucklehead Wallach was for not understanding that.
