Discuss Johnny Mathis

I'm right now playing Johnny Mathis' wonderful 1958 Christmas album "Merry Christmas", that every single track on is perfect and timeless - I think all, or nearly all, of the tracks continuing, to this day, to play on radio stations every December.

The album's twelve songs are: 1. "Winter Wonderland"; 2. "The Christmas Song"; 3. "Sleigh Ride"; 4. "Blue Christmas"; 5. "I'll Be Home for Christmas"; 6. "White Christmas"; 7. "O Holy Night"; 8. "What Child Is This? (Greensleeves)"; 9. "The First Noel"; 10. "Silver Bells"; 11 "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear"; 12. "Silent Night, Holy Night"

I've all my life (the album is from a little before I was born, therefore is music I've been hearing, annually, from the get go) loved Johnny's Christmas song renditions, and have always thought he has the exact right type voice and singing style for the music - the perfect pairing of singer to songs.

Here's the Wikipedia article about Johnny's "Merry Christmas" album.

Great album, that continues to appeal, and that remains beloved by generations.

Agree and agree.

Yes, when it comes to vocal perfection, Johnny Mathis ranks right up there with the very best of them.

Whether he solos or duets with the lovely Deniece Williams, well, anywhere he records, Johnny really knows how to captivate his well-receiving audience.

And as for his Christmas album, well, Johnny really knows how to pick them because, as you indisputably point out, "Great album, that continues to appeal, and that remains beloved by generations."

Merry Christmas, Gen, Johnny and all.

To you, as well, Quite!

that's hot

Johnny too!
