Biography

Tim Dedobbelaere is a Belgian youth actor, he was 9 years old when he did his first TV role in the series ‘Vlaamse streken’ (2015).

Meanwhile, he was also active in theatre where he played his first (double) role (Indian and Pirate) in the Musical ‘Pieter and his friends’. Between theatre rehearsals, he did some guest roles in the ‘K3 aftershow’, ‘De ideale wereld’, ‘de Sterrenshow’ (Studio 100) and the Dutch/Flemish series ‘De zoon van Artan’ where he played the son of Toon. In that same year, he played his first guest role for the TV series ‘De Buurtpolitie’ in the episode ‘Het spook’, after which he would go on to play several more guest roles in the episodes ‘Lions Club’ (Sebastien), ‘Autokerkerkhof’ (Nick) and ‘Waterballon’ (Jonas).

His first film shoot was for the fairy tale film ‘Behind The Trees’ (2016), where he played the role of Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) in it. He also played some minor roles in the Flemish films ‘Loewie’, ‘Isra and the Magic Book’ and ‘Baba Yega’. Also that year started de shooting of the Horror film ‘Zombies From sector 9’. Here he played ‘Wales Bookwalker’, the son of the now cult figure zombie killer ‘Bookwalker’. Especially for this gory role, he attended a week-long Special Movie effects course where they turned all the secrets about special effects and fake wounds into practice.

On his tenth birthday, he was on the set of ‘De Kotmadam’ (The Mafia). In between, he played some leading roles in several short films and you could spot him in music videos and commercials.

During the Ostend Film Festival (2016), he played the mini version of Ward Verrijcken where he awarded the very first Ensor for Youth Film to ‘Helden van de Zee’.

Besides Belgian productions, you can also spot Tim in some international series and films such as in the Norwegian TV series Occupied (Okkupert), in ‘The Missing 2’ as the son of an English soldier, in the German Disney production ‘Sprite Sisters’ as a karate kid and in the film ‘Domino’ by Hollywood legend ‘Brian de Palma’.

Tim Dedobbelaere was not only active on screen but also starred in several Efteling musicals (Sprookjesboom, Pinokkio and Puss in Boots).

On 1 September 2020, VTM TV News followed Tim's first day of school under strict corona measures after months of on-line homeschooling.

This was also his last TV appearance. Due to the ongoing ‘Corona/Covid’ pandemic, he put his acting career ‘on hold’.
