Biography
Allison Hrabluik is a filmmaker and visual artist living in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her experimental films are often set in her local community, and combine narrative and documentary elements to focus on the absurdity of the everyday. Allison’s short film The Splits (2015) premiered at Kassel Dokfest, screened at Images Festival, Toronto, the Chicago International Film Festival and was purchased for the permanent collection of the Vancouver Art Gallery. Allison attended The Alberta College of Art & Design, the Glasgow School of Art and is a laureate of the two year HISK residency in Ghent Belgium. She teaches at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver.
