i personally feel this was the BEST casting for Spock in the reboot! he plays the role so perfectly. and attractive to boot ;)

I don't have a problem with the casting, I like Quinto. I just don't like what they did with the character. This Spock is far too emo. To the point where I'd say he's more emotional than any of the other characters.
Does no one find it odd that Uhura acts more like a Vulkan than Spock does?

Is this version of Spock more emotional, in part because of the destruction of the planet Vulcan and the loss of so many he has known?

Interesting: the original Spock learned about human emotions from the presence of a live mother, and here he learns from her death. So in both universes he will always be emotional.
