Biography

Joshua Bogatin is a filmmaker, film critic, editor, and programmer based in New York City.

His first short film, La Visita, was selected as part of the Sundance Ignite program and his second short film, Gettysburg, is currently being finished. As a film critic he has contributed to Mubi Notebook, Filmmaker Magazine, Screen Slate, Senses of Cinema, and many other publications. As an editor he primarily works on features, shorts and commercials. Projects he has worked on have screened at the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and other international film festivals. He also freelances as a programmer for Spectacle Theater in Brooklyn, NY where he programs films from all over the world and ran a bi-weekly screening series dedicated to Hong Kong cinema.
