French film star Alain Delon dies aged 88
Dude was basically the French Sean Connery. His gangster/secret agent roles in The Samurai and The Red Circle were awesome. But my fave Delon film is Antonioni's The Eclipse because he displayed such a dynamic range of acting. Those are the only 3 I've seen. Any suggestions?

La Piscine has been on my radar for a while, I'll have to jump to it. Huge fan of Melville here, I agree L'Armée des Ombres is really powerful; I recently posted a thread about the execution scene which is a great example of off-camera violence being more disturbing than explicit violence. I hadn't heard of Rocco before but I see it's directed by Visconti who's widely respected. Thanks for the tips, I might do a Delon marathon this week.

Monsieur Delon,
vous êtes l'une des dernières icônes à s'envoler.
Je n'oublierai jamais ces belles journées du cinéma français.
Un grand merci pour tous vos films.
Repose en paix
