Why did Demi's new edgy rock era bomb?

I’m in complete shock how badly this is doing. Her last album opened with 74K. This one didn’t even open with HALF of that. None of the singles charted & her tour is flopping so hard some dates were cancel.
Are we just not ready for rock Demi?

It's not edgy or rock - it's teen pop rock by a 30 year old woman. The girl's fans who loved her from 2009-2012 are now in their early to mid twenties, they have grown up. She has not.

I have tried to listen but given up. I get it that I'm not in her demographic but I like to keep an open mind. Her music simply does not appeal to me. I mean I don't like Selena Gomez either but at least there are a few songs I dig. With Demi I don't think there is one that I really like.

I thought her album “Tell me you love me” was really good but I’m a sucker for pop R&B sounding music. I also think her song “Cold Stone” was great quality! I do agree her music isn’t outstanding but normally with each album there is at least a few gems.
